Global Blogger and Blogging Survey
How would you like the chance to win one of 10 copies of the ProBlogger Book AND get lots of interesting stats and facts about bloggers worldwide?
If this sounds good, take the survey!
Every 100 survey entries up to 1,000 I will pull an email address out at random to win a copy of the book, so all you have to do is enter the survey to be in with a chance of winning.
All the details are optional, including the email address which is purely for the prize draw. I have tried to make the answers as easy to complete as possible, using free text fields rather than strict categories. While it does make it harder for me to compile the results, the whole point is to find out as much as I can.
I hope to get 1,000 completed surveys so please do spread the word. The more entries received the more reliable the results will be and therefore more useful to draw conclusions from.
Subscribe to this blog to receive the results, I will begin releasing results as soon as there are enough entries.
Take the survey now then tell your friends

Good idea. You should specify whether you are asking for a monthly or yearly income in the money-related question.
Never get a marketer or blogger to write a survey
Q3 how many blogs?
yet after that you revert back to thinking the user has only one blog, so if they have 5 blogs, do they add up their revenue, if they mix between having no ads do they tick multiple?
Presuming they do your data is going to be screwed I might for example have 1 blog with no ads and 9 with private sponsorship, yet both would be given equal weight.
I tend to agree with Tim’s comments. But thanks for asking the questions
Looking forward to reading the results, Chris. Good luck with it.
Looking forward to the survey results!

Chris,
What an inspiration you are! I love the fact that your survey is not perfect.
Yeah! There’s hope for me!

I agree with Tim too. From a stats point it makes little sense to ask how many blogs, then go to choose one. I’d be more interested in seeing a total blog experience represented. I started to take the survey, but it was too tough. I have 8+ blogs at any one time, so choosing which best represents me, or which I’d like to represent me on the survey is too hard. Plus I’d mess with results, because at one blog I may make just $170 a month, but all in all, I live on my total blog earnings. So…? I suppose you’d need 2 surveys, one for people who consider blogging their career and main income source, and another for bloggers who don’t. That said, I’m still interested in seeing the results.
Nice idea – I enjoyed the free text fields and made full use of them. If everyone else does the same then you’ll have a hell of a time compiling the results!
@Tim Nash – I described what my figures applied to in my answer in order to clarify this point. That’ll probably mess up the data nicely!
You’re right, the questions could have been clearer.
I wonder how the results are going to be. Hope i’ll be able to get the ProBlogger! Thanks for giving back to the community!
Ditto to Tim Nash here too, but did my best… looking forward to seeing what comes out, scientific or no.
Interesting initiative, Chris. Done completing the survey and eagerly awaiting the results, to see how they compare to my choices.
I hope i get the book. The survey is good, it would be interesting to see the results
Filled it in and posted up about this on my own blog, hopefully it will send you a couple of extra submissions. I look forward to the results
I liked this survey! Great idea and looking forward to the results. I’m betting the number one problem will be “not enough time” (or maybe I’m just projecting
)
There is on thing that made the survey me do: Subscribe to this blog
Looking forward to the answers too!
I have the book and find it quite good. I took the survey because, well, I just like taking surveys.
