I agree – there’s a huge gap between state of the art and state of the practice when it comes to SEO.

There are definitely some super skilled SEO ninjas out there, and some of the best techniques are non-obvious and you don’t just luck into them.

Lesley, I like your definition for SEO Good SEO is definitely the right mix of common sense, technology, content and people skills!

When I first started out, SEO used to baffle me too, but thankfully I think I have managed to get to the bottom of it. I would love the opportunity to be able to help you with your SEO.

This is awesome. I’m glad to have such an opportunity to get such a cool give away. I’m at the 8 month mark of my blog and have published guest posts on some of the big blogs, but have gone through plateaus in my growth and struggled to break past the 150 a day mark. I’d love to get some SEO advice to help this out.

I would love to win the prize and find out how to make my blog posts students friendly (my blog is aimed at teens) but still SEOd. Many of the top sites in my field over saturate their key words. They may get the top spots, but they are not user friendly. I would like to work out how you create the balance.

I don’t think it’s completely necessary for me to enter this contest, but I always love to learn more about search engine optimization, and stuff. It can get pretty difficult…

@Darya, SEO help is good to find, and to automate. If you already knew it, then it should have been obvious you knew what you’re doing. Or they had no clue what they were doing.

If you can get good people to do some SEO for you, then do it. Otherwise just do it yourself. Or if you’re good enough to train somebody else – like a friend, or family member – then you can get it for free ;P

Seo has started to become a mindfield. There are so many company stating different things they can do, but there are also other companies who are a lot cheaper which actually do the work. There are to many seo service reseller.
