@Dominic - Who would have thought there was such a geeky scene around the north, eh? :)

@Jack - I was working outwards and the pets live with us :)

@Gregory - Isn't it funny how when we are being grateful we put work last but so many people put work first in their lives?

@Graham - Ouch, glad to hear you survived that ordeal! Sounds very nasty :O

@Samar - It's always nice to give back in which ever way we can manage :)

@Ayn - I think for places that don't have a day on the calendar for it we can still take the sentiment of thankfulness can't we :)

@infmom - It's not a good time to be looking for work but I am sure with your support everything will work out :)

@Bob - Unfortunately those of us without a turkey day still have to work so the spending time with loved ones has to wait for the weekend :)

@Tarah - I never thought of using that look inside feature to actually read stuff :)

@Tom - Totally

@John - Hope you and yours had a peaceful weekend too :)

@Sr Pat - Keep up the great work, you are so hi tech!

What was nice about this article.. was when I read it I wasn't feeling very thankful. I was feeling more like grumpy....(too much mince meat pie?) but then I started thinking "thank-ful" and things turned right around. So I guess I am thankful for being reminded to be thank-ful!

I didn't have a nice link to share about blogging (that you didn't already have) so I went googling. This one I know you know about but it looks super good to me because it gives links to practically everything that pertains to social media on the planet. So I will share this one.

http://www.techipedia.com/2007/internet-marketing-best-blog-posts/

I also wanted to share a Thanksgiving video that I did for our community. I have only done a few videos so each one is a learning curve...this is very simplistic.. but I'm encouraged because "Hey, Mom, I did it!" "Can I put it on the refrigerator?"

No doubt in time I will be embarrassed that I shared this at all.. but for now in the newbie stage... I is proud. Maybe that should be thank-ful!

Ok so I already have a problogger book, (which I am very thankful for!) so skip me in that respect, but I DO have a great site I discovered. I was looking on amazon for books about SEO (working on my xmas list) and I love to read the "look inside" and found a great site attached to one of them. its call "Your SEO Plan" (www.yourseoplan.com) it has some great posts and links to sites that give you tips.

I am thankful that we are able to support our son as he looks for work in this awful economy. I am thankful our daughter is so happy with her new job and her partner. I am thankful for our long and happy marriage.

And, for a blog post with a twist: http://infmom.net/journal/commentary/give-thanks-for-the-liberals/

Hi Chris,

I am thankful/grateful for being here on this beautiful planet we all call our home; to enjoy my family, friends, my cats, my health, community, my creativity and ability to learn, share, grow and so much more.

I am extremely grateful to live in a country ( US ) where change can happen, even if it takes longer than we'd wish for it to. Where I do have the freedom to be myself, explore creative self-expression and carve out my own path in life.

I am grateful for all that think in terms of leadership ,change and improvements , whether that be social/civil rights, technology, business, health, freedom...it's a long list. Here I mean more in life.

But I am grateful that so many chose to create a path to see, understand and model. That happens, often on the internet; where many have have shared much knowledge and experience and their imaginations. NOT a pitch for the book, but thanks for the opp. to make this comment. This is just a part of what I meant in the above.

I haven't had the nicest time over the last few years, but I am grateful for the experiences, whether great or rotten, because that is part of where I am and who I am right now.

Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, enjoy the day.

The one thing I'm most thankful for is the Internet. It's my portal of knowledge and I wouldn't even be a freelancer without it!

As a thanksgiving gift, I'm giving away 5 working hours.

(Chris, delete the above sentence if you feel its inappropiate. Not including a link to the post for the same reason. People will find it on my blog when they visit it.)

Hi Chris,

I'm just so thankful for sitting here at my PC again, after experiencing what could have been 3 heart attacks a week ago. I'm also thankful for the wonderful NHS (despite all out knocking of it) for the incredible care and treatment I received in Harrogate Hsopital. All their tests came up negative and I have not had a coronary or sustained any significant damage.

Above all, I'm grateful to those I love for their support through it all; to the amazing NfPTwitter community I've got into and their concern and support (I missed the first NfP Tweetup in London on Monday) and to the Man above for giving me another chance!

I look forward to meeting up with you sometime, if not before the Conference at York on 12 Feb 09. And thanks for making the link for me with John Haydon. What a great guy he is.

Cheers
