Biggest hurdle? Articulating the value of SM to office staff. I see it, I've experienced it, but now I need more knowledge to convey advantages so everyone's on board.

My biggest social media challenge is sticking to self-imposed time constraints. I have set a social media schedule for myself that allows for responding to email, dm, im; for networking; for learning; and for productivity but I find myself spending more than the allotted time on networking and less on productivity. To curtail this problem I have started using a timer which keeps me aware of the time I am spending on various activities. It is too early to tell if it is working as I have only been timing myself for less than a week.

Ok OK! I admit it! – when I first saw someone text I thought I’ll never do that!! And here I find myself at 46yrs old jumping head first into the SM deep-end! Why? Because I’ve just set up as a Small Business Owner. Yup – another deep end!! So what’s my SM challenge? To make as big a splash as I can and keep those ripples going!
I’m on board with the basics. But please give me the gift of time and sanity, and stop me reinventing the wheel, by telling me how it’s all done, how it all links, and how to maximize it for success. I am so hungry to learn from those who know.
Arm me with all the tools to enable and empower people to get healthy – on a local, national and international basis!

Dawn Peters
PS. Does it help if I Tweet ‘#win SMSS’ here? Only joking!!

As a start-up not-for-profit organization –
My biggest Social Media challenge as a nonprofit is to reach key influencers and healthcare professionals with our message, to deliver more benefits to them.

In order to do this for HumorWeRX, I need to establish a powerful, effective Social Media Program.

I am establishing a nonprofit organization and want to communicate our message of services, etc. that are available to healthcare professionals and related organizations. I would like to effectively leverage Social Media for this new entity. The product is Applied Humor Therapy -- please don't laugh ;) lol But -- for real. Really! :D

My written entry: http://budurl.com/HumorWeRX

I hope to be considered and in the running to receive a ticket to attend the Social Media Success Summit 2010…

Many thanks for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Becky Cortino

We have a gospel group, the Monday Nite Choir Boys, http://mncb.blogspot.com and our goal is to help others. We really want to form out this gift that we've been given to share and to help others. This would be a way cool outlet to advance that opportunity and bring it back to folks who need what can be done to help them out.

My challenge with social media has been in working it for the non-profit sector covering one disease, Diabetes. To everyone else it may sound simple but when you are going against the norm as in social networks versus outside communities it changes the face of everything.

We chose to build a grassroots initiative with a support system through online communities. We have made great headway in that now we have teamed up with LIVESTRONG.COM, Cyclebetes, Vitazest, Diabetes Research Institute and a major health project with the City of Floresville, Texas.

Now all of this is based within the last 60 days and it is unbelievable since this all started as therapy for me when I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago.

Anyway I see this seminar as learning more and better ways to enhance what we have learned and get our message out to more of the people who need it. When you figure there are 285 million diabetics in the world and maybe only 5 million using social networks our work as a grassroots initiative is cut for us and I see social media the only way to reach these people along with our outside communities.

Thanks for the chance to win tickets to this event.

Thanks for sponsoring this contest, Chris. You're such an awesome guy ;->

I cross promote my blog content on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. And, many people who read my posts leave comments/compliments on THOSE platforms and not my blog. Short of saying, "Thanks for the comment or tweet, can you say the exact same thing on my actual blog?", how can I get these people to leave those comments on my website? I'd say that's my biggest social media challenge at the moment.

Thank you!

P.S. Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!
