This page is becoming a mutual thank you fest, I am so lucky to have such nice readers, I want to hug you all (if it wouldn’t cost so much in air-fare and hurt the environment so much) :)

Thank you Chris for thanking me [lol], and thank you also for including my name on the top.

Hugging never hurts the environment, though you will have to make appointments with everyone, heh.

Thank you so much for the acknowledgment, Chris, and let me send it right back at you.

I have appreciated the material you post here. It has been a constant source of encouragement, often because you are not afraid to take a personal, and occasionally opposite, stance on something. I have found that particularly refreshing.

I’ll be sure to keep reading.

Aw, link loves! You don’t have to. I read your blog every time there’s an update because I find it very helpful.

It’s you whom we should thank.

    Thanks for the acknowledgement.

I was actually surprised to see my name on there, since I do not think that I have left you many comments yet.

    Anyway, thanks!

I’m not on the list … this is comment #1, but I’m definitely more drawn to comment where it is recognized and appreciated in this way. Good for you for embracing and rewarding your community. Glad I found your blog thanks to Matt McGee.

Thanks for the mention Chris. I like the information and insight that I get from your blog. I found your blog by accident one day, this is awesome that you are showing us that you appreciate your community:)

Did you use some sort of automagical WordPress plugin (if that’s your platform) to generate that list, or was it ad hoc and manual?

I’d like to do the same thing, but WordPress doesn’t show me who my top commenters are, out of the box.

@Aaron – thank you and thanks Matt McGee!

@James – I work very hard for people to find me by accident :)

@Darren – I queried the database but there are wordpress plugins that do it for you

Wow, Chris… you keep inspiring by example. Thank you very much!

I like the “human touch” of this better than a plug-in for Top Commenters. I’m not sure how those work, but couldn’t such a plug-in “reward” people who might not deserve such recognition? You know, folks who post a comment like, “Cool post!” and then respond to everyone else’s comment with “I agree!” and before you know it, they’ve added 20 comments to every post?

Anyway, thanks again for doing this Chris. It was a very pleasant surprise!

Agreed, I think automating the process invites a quantity competition, it shouldn’t really be a high score but a sincere process IMO
