New Free Blog Reviews Site
Are you waiting for me to get around to another blog critique submission announcement? Well if you want a review and can’t wait for me to get around to you a new site called UBlogMe has been set up especially to help bloggers get reviewed right now and for free.
While they are still finishing off, Marc (the founder of the site) thought he would offer chrisg.com readers a first look so you can try out the service and give them your feedback. I know you guys are so smart and helpful they will get a ton of great comments
The idea is like a review exchange. People sign up to get reviewed and find someone else to review from the directory. There is no limit to how many reviews you receive they just ask that you return the favour to your reviewer or someone else.
I think it is a fantastic idea, and such a neat concept I wonder why I didn’t think of it first
I mean feedback is a wonderful thing but how many people have the money to buy reviews (even if you could guarantee a paid review would be real feedback)? When this gets up to steam you will get good links, honest criticism and a place to find other blogs in your niche - all for free. We need to get behind things like this in blog land.
Please do take a look and leave your comments right here in this comment area. The five best comments as judged by Marc will get their blogs critiqued by me through the service

This is a very nice idea.
I have just introduced a similar concept on my website. It is called “pay it forward learning”. I use it for teaching “Java programming best practices”, and “software design best practices” on my website.
Participants can take the course for free, but they must mentor future students (at least one student, by answering questions on the newsgroup). This way each participant is able to help another participant, and also improve their own understanding of the topic by teaching someone else.

Cool idea, I like that a lot Parag
The site doesn’t work yet. Signing up doesn’t work, and the Contact Us page doesn’t have anything.
That’s odd I am sure the signup worked when I tried, let me have another go …
Yup sign up worked for me …
I know they are working on it, can you give it another go?
Hi Chris,
Thank you for the review, I’m glad you appreciate the concept and really appreciate your input.
It is still a work in progress, so anybody with issues just let me know and I’ll get somebody on it ASAP>
Thanks again
-Marc
I’m doing something similar called SOAP - the Scratch One Another Program. In some ways UBlogMe is a lot like SOAP - but SOAP focuses specifically on giving and receiving blog improvement tips. Anyway, “launch” announcement coming later today at my blog. (First round was in March; this is the second iteration.)
I checked it. No contact us, no terms. Developed by http://www.paradisosolutions.com with a PR of 0.
I am willing to give it a whirl because of the trust I have developed with you chrisg.
Their example review talks a lot about BBB history and Paradiso Solutions, LLC is not even a member of the Better Business Bureau?
How long have they been in business? Where are they located?
Colbs - Thanks for the input but you’ve missed something. Paradissolutions is only the web designer that designed the site and nothing more
The contact us and terms pages are being created now. As I mentioned its brand new and a work in progress. The basic concept is what were hoping to get feedback on.
For example; Rock Your Stock just joined and has a review written about them here http://www.mycreditgroup.com/membersblog/
all in all thats not a bad couple links to their site.
THanks again for the input and I’m working to have every suggestion implemented.
The trouble is, while I could register, and my site appeared, I could not review anyone. I suspect they cannot review me either.
Usability issues to say the least!
Ok now thats a problem I would need to solve. How its supposed to work is you put in all your info.
THen do a search. For example if you search for “credit repair” you should see my site come up.
Then you just write your own review on your own blog.
If thats not how it happened, then I certainly need to address that.
Aha!
I think it is not clear that the review is to be on each registrar’s blog. In reading through quickly, I anticipated reviews would be gathered together in one place - your site!
That needs to be made more clear, IMO.
Hey Marc, Just checken. I am going to give it a try now and let you know what I think.
Hi Colbs -
Well thank you and I have somebody working on the contact us page as we speak.
Thanks for all your input
Hey Marc, How do I review other blogs. I could not find the search buttom in the “how it works” section? Or do you mean google it then review any desired blog and post the review on my blog? I am eager to give back, let me know. Thanks
Colbs- you’re not the first to ask this so is a priority to make more clear.
If you go log back in, you should see a search button in the navigation. Once you’re on the search page, simply type in a keyword e.g. blogging, web design, etc.
Then if any sites with those tags have signed up they will appear in the search results.
Just read their bio and review away.
Thank you very much for the input. Im trying as quickly as I can to fine tune the sites according to everybody’s feedback.
Colbs sent you a couple emails regarding your questions and your review.
*Everybody* Thank you very much for all the input so far. It’s been very helpful and I really appreciate it.
Chris, thank you for the mention it has helped us with a list of things to fine tune.
As always, you’re the man!
How old should a blog be to benefit from a review? And does a blogger need to be experienced to give reviews? I’ll go look over there next.
I think any blog with about 10 posts is old enough to be reviewed, any less and it is difficult to gauge what the blog is about.
You don’t need any experience to give a good review, reviews are about your own unique and honest point of view. Nobody has the life or outlook you have, each and every opinion is valuable
Put another way, who wants an audience made up entirely of blog gurus?
Nice idea.
I haven’t signed up yet so I may be back with more, but it would be nice if - #1 How it works / Create an account - was a live link. Every step saved makes it more likely someone will dig deeper.
Best
