Meet Me in Chicago

SOBCon08If you would like to meet me in person then you will have your chance May 2nd to May 4th in Chicago!

Yes, I am speaking at SOBCon08 :)

I’m very excited. Not just that I am speaking, but the chance to meet some of you guys face to face. I certainly hope to meet as many of you that can make it as possible.

I have been lined up to talk about

Editorial ROI —“ Streamlining the Editorial Process

What does that mean?

As Liz says Bloggers are inflicting themselves with “Perceived Productivity”:

Bloggers read and believe that writing blog posts, commenting, and tweaking their blogs is working hard . . . and it is but it’s the same as painting a store and stocking it with goods. It doesn’t get them paid. So how do they make that take less time so that they have more time to be spending on interacting with people who will give them money?

We equate “hard work” with productivity, or even virtue when really we should work smart.

So my mission is to tell you how to get maximum bang for blog, how to create compelling content that gets results, without it taking all your time to achieve.

Can you imagine this? Does that seem like a talk you would want to listen to?

  1. Sounds like a place to be! But Chicago, drat, that’s a long way away. Surely someone’s got to be getting close to nailing down that Star Trek teleporting technology by now… :S Are you planning to make a transcription or video of your talk available to your faithful readers, by any chance, Chris?

  2. Congratulations Chris! Best of luck with the speech!

  3. @Jen – I will have to check with Liz, she da boss on this one ;)

@Jack – Thanks, I used to do a lot of public speaking but it has been a while so I will need it :)

Oh that I could – Chicago is only a couple of hours flying time, but the budget isn’t allowing for it this year. Maybe next year.

In the meantime, hopefully I’ll see you at BWE in September.

  5. OooOoooo………Have fun – errrrr………work.

If there is a recording let me know – either that hide me in your luggage! I’m not THAT big :0P

  6. Hope so, though BWE flights look expensive right now – why do they have to hold it in a tourist trap? :)

  7. Char

Chris – I really hope to be in Chicago this year and definitely want to meet you while I am there. Thanks for linking to my article, too.

  8. Hi Chris! I’m really looking forward to meeting you and listening to your presentation. As a blogging neophyte, I can use all the good advice I can get! :-)

    See ya in Chicago!
    Terry

  9. Alas, I won’t be able to make it to Chicago. But, if Liz allows it, I’d love to see a video (or at least a transcription) of your talk.

  10. Hi Chris,

Certainly a talk I’d like to listen to you give. I’ll not be at the conference, but I hope it all goes brilliantly for you. Perhaps there’ll be some YouTube clips of the talks afterwards? I reckon they’d get some good exposure.

  11. I’ll be there and looking forward to your talk and everyone else’s, too!

  12. It’s only 2.5 hrs from me. Maybe I will go. I was planning a photo shoot there soon anyway. Can I get a discount? Kidding Chris.
Hmmm. Maybe I can get an exclusive interview.

  13. I think it sounds fabulous and just that little tidbit has got me thinking….

But Australia to Chigaco is a tad out of my reach just now….I too have been impatiently waiting for that teleporting technology to arrive. :)

Have a great time! I’m sure it’ll go really well.

  14. See you there, Chris!
