Happy Birthday to Me, You and Them

sponsored by performancing ads
It’s my birthday today :)

As you might have seen on Twitter and my personal blog, I was in a bit of a quandary what to do to celebrate. What do you give the man who has everything?

So I came up with a plan that meant you get a chance at some cool stuff, you get to help others if you feel inclined in lieu of a gift, and if you still want to help me out you can :)

The plan?

I will be making a random selection from my email subscribers.

If you are selected you will win one of:

Bliss - for babies born too soon, too small, too sickObviously by being a subscriber to my blog that is gift enough for me, but if you still feel like you want to say happy birthday or thanks or whatever, instead of buying me a beverage,  a small donation to Bliss, the UK premature baby charity would be very cool.

Yes this is a blatant attempt to get you onto my email list but I figure it’s my birthday so I should be allowed! :) If you are already an RSS subscriber you will still need to sign up to the daily email list, but feel free to unsubscribe after the draw. Obviously I would love for you to hang around and I have more very cool stuff planned that will only be broadcast to daily email subscribers so you might want to put a filter rule rather than unsubscribe. That’s all I am saying for now ;)

So all you need to do is sign up via email. Remember as well as a chance of winning these very excellent prizes, every subscriber gets a free copy of my flagship content ebook, so what are you waiting for? Subscribe already! :)

Special thanks to my very generous blogging buddies for donating the prizes :)

Thanks also to the people who made suggestions for how I should celebrate

Draw closed, winners selected! Thanks for all who signed up - Remember, there are many more goodies on the way especially for email subscribers so make sure you keep watching your inbox! :)

Yes many happy returns mate, it’s kind of ironic that the conversation I’m tuned into at present is all about “new” ways of communicating…social marketing and less emphasis on good old fashioned email marketing…and then you come along (a new media authority) on your birthday taking big action to increase your email readership…big lesson…are you taking note all those who say email list building is dying !?

Happy Happy Birthday Chris! I also wished you Happy Birthday on Twitter with a suggestion, but I don’t think you saw it! :0)

It was also my birthday (22nd), but I spent it in hospital - oh well, at least I had some company :-) hehe

Well - your celebration certainly beats my suggestion - its fantastic!! and I hope and pray that I win - hint hint! sorrrreeeee! *I think I need to subscribe again though!.

Your gifts are great! (I too got a gift for someone else on my birthday too - it is a great feeling!) .. the book sounds wonderful, as I have a strong goal to go problogging eventually, among other great things - thinking big!! (I lost my day job from illness - but i see this as a postive thing - a new and exciting world out there for me while I have it!! Very exciting stuff I must say :-)

I have been meaning to join Teaching Sells too, since I found out about them about a year ago, but the doors were closed! So I will cross my fingers!. When I came out of the hospital on the day of my birthday, - well, this was the first chance I had to join … so I jumped to the webpage and to my absolute shock and horror - they had just closed the doors - I couldn’t believe it. Now i have to wait another year? I need the knowledge now, and I have sent them an email beggingm pleading to let just one more person in, prettty please? Hoping to hear back from them. I was so disappointed - as have membership script installed, ready - and ideas for my virtual learning ideas (having been an academic lecturer in prior life before my illness)

oh woe is me. how is that for going on - and on ‘our’ birthdays too!

I will work it out. I hope that you had a really special day. I think its wonderful that you involved everyone in your day - you give the presies. I will have a look at the children’s fund too - see what I can do, if I read correctly. Just need to fix my laptop, which has now also decided to die on me - can i scream now!

But I am grateful for all that I have really. How old are you, may I ask?? hehe (I am nearing that big ol’ 40 mark - next year - eek! Perhaps we can celebrate together :-D
(I have been a big fan of yours for a long time now, but haven’t really commented until now - and please don’t think that I am s.. up, so I can win a spot in Teaaching Sells. I don’t expect anything. Just love to write, too much. A trademark of mine I guess after having done a phd - keeping things short is the difficult part.

    But I digress - hehe!

Happy Birthday again - and its great to see all of your followers, the well-wishers here too. Great job Chris!

    Kind Regards
    Meg
    Adelaide, South Australia

Love your writing - thank for providing the ‘net with quality stuff! (wikipedia):

“Happy Birthday to You,” also known more simply as “Happy Birthday,” is a traditional song that is sung to celebrate the anniversary of a person’s birth. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, “Happy Birthday to You” is the most popular song in the English language, followed by “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” and “Auld Lang Syne”.

Many great returns on your day!

    Cheers, Jon
