I live in China and everyone has a business card here, even if they have a ‘normal’ job (which we wouldn’t have a business card for in the west).

I’m thinking I will eventually get a business card for my blog, especially if I expand my web development stuff. I hadn’t heard of Moo so thanks – I’ll check them out (although if I’m still living in China when the time comes, I’ll probably get it done locally).

I use business cards for my business..

Business or blog cards are probably better and more effective than a lot of SEO that goes on.

Why, of course – and of the Moo variety, I might add.

They are still quite unheard of, so in addition to being small, slick and high-quality they also have a novelty value.

I was recently at a restuarant, and under the glass that was the table, people had written on napkins and some people business cards advertising ect. If I had a business card, I would have slipped that under the glass, but I didn’t. What I did though was write my blog site address on the back of another business card though

I actually have two business cards – one for my freelance copywrting/bloggin business and one that’s a list of all my blogs. I call these my blogevangalist cards, because I offer people a free 30 minute consultation on how blogging can help their business or cause.

I get my cards at VistaPrint.com. Since just about everyone uses VistaPrint, I tweak the designs a lot so they stand out. Plus they’re super cheap. I do love the Moo cards. I got oodles of them at BlogHer from other bloggers.

One of my main offline marketing methods for my blog is the use of business cards. But I do it with a slight twist.

I printed up some cards with my blog’s web address and a little info about the blog. Then, whenever I’m in a bookstore or coffee shop, I always drop a few cards down for people to find – these locations are ideal since my blog is literature/writing related.

I have no way of measuring how many hits my blog gets because of this, but I’m sure it’s been a few.

This is on my long list of “must-do”s. I don’t get out from behind the computer and out in front of new people much, but when I was blogging from the Creation music festival recently I realized what an oversight it was not to have brought business cards.

Thanks for the tips. I’d love to be able to get some free, since the $$$ are not really rolling in. Or I’m not really rolling in $$$.

So far I am using different business cards for my different business contexts. Sometime it’s confusing to people. I am planning to print a blog card as well. I hope it will not add more confusions to people.

They are pretty cute, everyone I have given a card to hasn’t wanted to give it back. They are great for non-marketing ideas too because you can have numerous designs in one order, so as well as promoting your blog or your business, the flickr ones are great for proud parents and grandparents to carry round pics of the family

@Patrick – I think that would be a great package and some nice differentiation

@Kathy – Heh, yeah that is a small flaw in the plan, remembering has long been a problem of mine.

@Meredith – The tag cloud is neat but the moo cards still appeal to me because of their unique size and shape plus the instant recall from having your photograph on there is nice too.
