Chris,

I bought the book, based solely on your recommendation. As a b2b consultant I too am put off by the long landing page. Just shows how powerful your reputation is. That is until I get a questionable recommendation. Then I may be slower to buy. Keeps you on your toes :)

But I learned several things from the book and it's marketing via your referral.

First, the book was worth the $77 dollars.

I had to translate the authors b2c focus and terms to match my corporate client mindset. But in the end concepts I've taught for years were repeated in the book, just different words.

The biggest takeaway was how to monetize my consulting into info products.

I've been providing freebies for the last year, and am now looking at ways to support clients' buying online - in a way that won't diminish my reputation/image online.

Also, learned that affiliate payments of $37 out of $77 dollars per sale can make it easy to refer good products. The pricing strategy was insightful.

Chris,

This is the vary thing that automatically shuts down a sale to me. Landing pages that are so long that you give up half way just because of boring hype. I have always thought that if you put the actual amount up front and then maybe then (last thing to do) is give the hype. Have you received a copy of this e-book. I have looked at other FREE ebooks you have suggested recently and have found valuable info there.

Who started this crazy mile long landing page concept anyway? What ever happened to short concise adverts that got to the point? Some of my ads are three lines with a graphic and get great results. Maybe length of an ad shows how desperate the writer is to tell you that you want something when you don't need it.

Well, I hope that at some point in my lifetime, I can get the same amount of publicity for my ebook that Alexis is getting these days for Desperate Buyers!

You Chris, Yaro, and I am sure that as time goes on, I will be getting additional e-mails from other top bloggers I subscribe to that will be singing her praises.

The product is worthy of it's accolades however, and Kudos to her for the attention she is receiving. I guess I am just jealous (LOL!)..

Anyway, I guess the most important educational aspect of this ebook, goes against an axiom that has creeped into the mindset of
business development thinking..

"Do what you love, and the money will follow"..

Not everything you love, will make you money.

The premise is flawed.

Find a need, and fill it. Then the money will definitely follow.

And, that more than any other concept in my opinion needs to be part of the lexicon of any online endeavor..

Sidenote: I am afraid that my sales copy is too long, and may try a bit to hard as well (LOL!). But, long copy works for my particular product.

Good review Chris..

Regards..

I know exactly what you mean, I wouldn't have looked further if I hadn't had a strong recommendation. The actual book though is much better than the landing page makes you doubt :)

I know people say those sites work...
But I can't buy anything from the long letter approach. Something in me won't allow it. I want to, but I can't do it. It feels too... Amway. I'm sorry to be negative, but you asked what I think.
