@Doug Smith - With the new blogroll in recent wordpress versions and a little bit of template tweaking possibly I think Damians plugin pretty much works for most scenarios as you choose visibility when adding a link so they don't have to display

@Gary King - Back up now :)

@George - Yes I am going to go through my archives and find stuff that should be linked :)

@Damian - Those ISPs always choose the wrong time to go down. Seems half the time I get on Digg homepage there is some sort of hosting/dns/whatever issue

Hmmm... That sounds pretty interesting, I will have to check it out.

I like the idea of being able to change all the links on my blog/site to a particular company by making just one change.

That looks like a good one. I like how simple it is to set up and put into use.

FYI, Another plugin that I've used for the same purpose is Ubernymns from http://huddledmasses.org/jaykul/ubernyms-20/

Ubernyms was originally designed to display text tips associated with a list of pre-defined acronyms. It has become much more in that you can give a list of words or phrases that become linked to whatever URLs you specify. It might be a good choice for someone who needs their blog roll for other things or needs more flexibility than WP_LinkIt and doesn't mind the more complex setup required.
